The Fungi Lighting Fable
I had a friend facing a tough time with the medical system, which reminded me of my own painful experiences with the VA. To comfort him, I decided to create a piece of art—specifically, a mushroom night light, as mushrooms have been significant in my personal growth. For me, they symbolize resilience and transformation.
I realized the night light needed to be made of glass for durability and translucency, but I had no experience with glasswork. Bryan Raskin of Mirador Glass helped me create the first glass mushrooms. His guidance was invaluable, turning my vision into reality. With my dad's assistance in woodworking and electrical work, we completed the first Fungi Light.
The night light brought tears of appreciation to my friend's eyes, which deeply moved me. Seeing the joy and comfort it brought him inspired me to share this feeling with others. Thus, Fungi Lighting was born—a company dedicated to spreading light, love, and the warmth of belonging through unique mushroom night lights.
Our mission is to bring a little extra light into everyone's life, reminding them of the beauty and resilience that mushrooms represent. Everyone deserves some extra light in their lives, so make it a Fungi Light!
